Although it takes lots of courage to accept it, they managed to tell the world about their imperfections. They’re even learning to love them as they are what help them keep their million-dollar careers.

With a towering height of 6’1″, the American fashion model wasn’t only the tallest girl in school, she was also the tallest model to strut the Victoria’s Secret runway. However, having really long legs never made her feel beautiful all the time.

In an interview with W magazine, she said, “My sisters have always been these gorgeous ‘glamazons’, and I’m like this tall, skinny stick in the family. And I still am the tall girl, even on the runways. It used to be something that I really disliked about myself, being tall and lanky, but it turned out to be the greatest asset I have—how uniquely weird I am.”

Although she was already earning decent amounts of cash, she still had problems with appearance. She has this huge teeth, which others refer to as “horse teeth”, causing her to have difficulties in closing her mouth.

For many years, she was told to have it fixed, but she didn’t give in to the pressure. Instead, she turned it into her signature pose. She said, “Your flaws can be your perfection.”

Professionally known as Iman, Iman Mohamed Abdulmajid is a Somali-American fashion model and actress, notable for her charity works.

Since the 1970s, Iman has captivated the world because of her long, slender neck. She was even asked to grace the cover of Vogue because the modeling industry had never seen a neck like hers before.

Because her success is credited to her unique neck, many kept on asking if she really did appreciate her neck. The answer is no. She confessed to the Oprah Magazine by saying, “As a young girl, I was much more preoccupied by my flaws. Everyone teased me because of my long, skinny neck. To hide my so-called deformity, I was wearing a turtleneck when I was 3, yet my neck is probably my best asset. At the end of the day, what counts is the entire package.”

As a child, she was desperate to have braces to bring together her front teeth, but her parents never really forced her. In the long run, she gave up and embraced her unique smile. Now she is among the industry’s most in-demand models.

In an interview with the magazine The Edit, she revealed, “There’s this whole idea of perfection in modeling. It’s good for people to realize everyone is human. I still worry I’m going to look weird as I get older. I’ll be a weird old woman with scary teeth.”

Now doctors keep telling her that they can fix her ears, but she said, she’ll never try plastic surgery again.
